Impressionism, its past and its future.In the former Museum of American Art you will now find the Museum of Impressionism in Giverny. From October to April the Museum organises major exhibitions.Here you will find works by the best known Impressionists such as Renoir, Cezanne, Degas, Van Gogh and of course Monet who was so inspired by the colours of Giverny and found his inspiration here, in paintings such as his Water Lilies. You will also find works by lesser known painters such as Caillebotte and Guillaumin. The museum aims to help you discover or rediscover the work of these artists.And then there are others. The Museum of Impressionism encompasses all kinds of impressionist notions. Beyond the main focal point, the museum's exhibitions also aim to make us understand what came before Impressionism, what inspired it and what came next, the consequences of this movement in painting and in art history.
